Effect of density control in partially observable asymmetric-exit evacuation under guidance: Strategic suggestion under time delay

To enhance the evacuation efficiency in partially observable asymmetric-exit under guidance, a general framework of dynamic guiding assistant system is presented to investigate effect density control. In this framework, several assistants are established observe partial information pedestrians’ location and adjust signals systems. A simple on-off-based control algorithm proposed for according delayed data observed (i.e., pedestrian densities regions near corresponding exits). This paper provides strategic suggestions on how set region target by involving force-driven cellular automaton model. It that can (positively affect) global distribution locations suppress arching phenomena process even using time delays. By imposing moderate density, also suppresses triggers collisions around exits avoids inefficiently separating pedestrians. efficiency, we reveal an interesting fact without loss generality only need from small exit instead large when delay slight enough. Our numerical findings expected provide new insights into designing computer-aided strategies real evacuations.
